“I believe animals matter because like us, animals can experience sensations such as pain, hunger, thirst, fear, frustration, and sadness as well as many pleasurable sensations that we humans experience like happiness, satisfaction and a family bond. I believe that because animals can suffer they deserve to avoid sufferance; this is why I became a vegan over a year ago. After discovering the atrocities that go on behind the doors of factory farms in Australia and around the world I could no longer justify funding the cruel practices of the intensive animal using industries. |

I started reading books such as Animal Liberation by Peter Singer and Empty Cages by Tom Regan and watching numerous documentaries in order to educate myself on all the different facets of society’s treatment of animals today. By the end, being a voice for animals became a major part of my lifestyle. |
