Thank You for Wanting to Help Pigs!
There are many important things you can do to help Save Babe. Here are a few tips and resources to get you started:

Every time we visit a supermarket we vote with what we purchase. The strongest message we can send to cruel animal industries is to not purchase their products. Join thousands of other caring Australians in the call for change.
Make the Pro-Pig Pledge today and refuse to support animal cruelty.
So many Australians are still unaware of how pigs are treated in Australia. You can help us spread the word and encourage friends, family and colleagues to not support animal cruelty. The key to ending factory farming in Australia is an informed community who are empowered to create change through their choices as consumers.
These cruel industries are reliant on consumer support; remove their profits and they will be forced to close their doors forever. Please encourage everyone you know to visit SaveBabe.com to see the evidence for themselves, or if you would like information leaflets to distribute please contact us.
Whilst making the Pro Pig Pledge is the ultimate choice one can make on behalf of pigs, every Australian can assist by leaving factory-farmed products on supermarket shelves.
If your friends need further information to encourage them to consider giving up eating pigs altogether, then alert them to the following leading scientific report on the causes of cancer released in November last year:
The World Cancer Research Fund report is the most comprehensive report into the causes of cancer ever written. Renowned international experts reviewed some 7,000 independent scientific research projects from around the world on the contributing factors of cancer.
The report recommends that consumers avoid eating salami, ham, bacon and sausages saying that these meats were "convincing or probable causes of some cancers".
Animals Australia campaigns fearlessly and tirelessly to protect all animals. We rely entirely on the generosity of supporters to continue our vital work. Your kind donation to the SaveBabe.com campaign will help us to highlight the plight of factory-farmed pigs and to encourage consumers to make compassionate, cruelty-free choices.
Animals Australia's Action Network offers the opportunity to join an active group of dedicated, likeminded people working together to make real change for animals. From letter writing to keep animal issues in the press and on the minds of decision makers, to assisting in public awareness initiatives, collecting petition signatures, through to f undraising, campaigning and national days of action—there is something that everyone can do to help animals.
Speak up for animals everywhere you go, without saying a word. Our eye-catching t-shirts and bumper stickers will help spread the message. Click here to visit the online shop.
Major retailers Coles and Woolworths in Australia purchase 80% of factory-farmed pig meat providing the profits on which these industries exist. Their supermarkets then sell these products to consumers who are ignorant to the suffering endured by these animals.
The international fast food giant, Burger King (Hungry Jacks' parent company) has begun to phase out purchases of factory farmed pig products. Burger King, and even McDonalds UK and Europe, have also begun the switch to cage-free egg purchases. Yet here in Australia these same fast food giants still support cruel factory farming industries.
One of the crucial keys to change is making these supermarkets and fast food giants realise that consumers will not stand for animal cruelty, and will not support companies that do.
Please compose and send letters to these major companies to let them know how you feel about factory farming. You may wish to use some of the following key points in your letters. If so, please rewrite them in your own words.
Send letters to fast food restaurants:
McDonald's | Hungry Jacks | Subway | |

Postal Address | Mr Peter Bush, CEO McDonald’s Australia PO BOX 392 Pennant Hills NSW 2120 |
Mr Tim Tighe, CEO Hungry Jack's Level 6 80 William St East Sydney NSW 2011 |
Mr Brian Tap Regional Director Subway PO Box 313 Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 |
Suggested key points for fast food chains:
- Inform them that you are writing due to your concern over their companies continued support of factory farmed piggeries.
- Sow stalls and gestation crates, which confine mother pigs in barren, filthy conditions for up to 16 weeks of their pregnancy without room to turn around, are cruel and should be banned.
- It is their companies corporate responsibility to address consumer concerns and to ensure that they set a high standard for animal welfare.
- Burger king has already started phasing out purchases from facilities that use sow stalls. Burger King, as well as McDonald's UK and Europe have also started the switch to cage-free eggs. These decisions have been internationally applauded.
- Australians are caring people and do not support animal cruelty.
- Inform them that if their company does not wish to be seen as behind the times, or insensitive to consumer concerns then they must commit to phasing out purchases from factory farming facilities.
- Let them know that you will not support their company and will discourage family and friends from supporting them whilst they continue to source from factory farming facilities.
- If their company decides to phase out purchases from factory farms they will certainly be applauded for taking a lead in improving standards for farmed animals in Australia.

- Leading UK retailer Marks and Spencer recently announced that it will eliminate factory farmed pig products from its fresh food lines due to increasing consumer demand for free-range products and its desire to improve farm animal welfare. Just as in the UK, in Australia factory farmed products are decreasing in demand, as the public becomes aware of the cruelty of this industry. And this demand is being replaced by an increased demand for free-range products and vegetarian meat alternatives.

Help inform others about factory farming. It's only when people realise what's happening to pigs in Australia that they can make informed decisions about what they support.
